Mientay Tour 1 - Mientay Tour 2 - Mientay Tour 3 - Mientay Tour 4

The logo reminds us brown of soil and green of leaves; brown of land reclaimation and extremely grateful to all the farmers for those, esp for Mekong Delta today.

“MIEN TAY” is one of the friendly names that the Vietnamese give to this 300-year-delta.

What’re the highlights?

LIFE ON ISLAND: The Tien slowly zigzags down to the Sea, forming islands, very fertile and excellent for orchards. Ditches on islands give silty water and fish for islands.

CANAL NETWORKS: Mekong Delta is criss-crossed by thousands of canals, this forms a very typical lifestyle in this area, floating market, hand-rowing boats, fish-catching along canals…

LOCAL TAXIS: rowing-boats along canals, “xe loi” (Mekong tuk-tuk), horse-carts, bikes along country roads.

COCONUT VILLAGES: Ben Tre province is famous with coconut candies and coconut handicraft products.

RACH MIEU CABLE BRIDGE: One of the three well-known cable bridges in Mekong Delta.

DON CA TAI TU NAM BO (traditional music) it’s very particular music in the South.

MEKONG FOOD: availlable with fishes and vegetables, boiling, steaming, barbecuing, frying, making broth…, cooking-style of reclaimation time, simple and quick but nutritious and delicious. Popular menu consists of fried elephant ear fish (making fresh spring rolls), steamed-shrimps, “BANH XEO” (Mekong crepe or very thin pancake), fishes cooked with “salt water” in a clay-pot.
